Taliesin

Taliesin
In Celtic myth the son to whom Ceridwen gave birth after having swallowed Gwion. The entire process of transformation which preceded this seems to be an early initiation ritual for a chief bard. Although Taliesin is mentioned in the Mabinogion very little is known about him and it is quite possible that the name may have belonged to several chief bards or druids. He was said to have been involved in the Battle of the Trees and to have been one of the seven survivors from the great battle between Brân and Matholwch.
